A lot of the release dates for Lionsgate’s future slate of films have been moved. For example, Saw XI’s release date was originally scheduled for September 27, 2024, but it was moved from June 7 to August 23.
A day prior to Lionsgate’s CinemaCon presentation, the company made adjustments that made it more apparent what fans may anticipate from them over the course of the next year or so. Lionsgate is moving the previously scheduled September 27, 2024 release date of Halle Berry’s film Never Let Go to Saw XI in order to partially offset these changes.
In the horror story Never Let Go, a woman and her two sons discover their home, and the only thing keeping them safe is their relationship in the face of evil taking over the planet. They are literally bound to one another since, in order to keep safe, they must remain attached, even by rope. But when one of the boys begins to wonder if the Evil is actually real, then everything is in jeopardy.
The studio will move The Best Christmas Pageant from November 15 to November 8, however nothing will fill the void left by The Crow. In the vein of A Christmas Story, that movie, which stars Judy Greer, Pete Holmes, Elizabeth Tabish, and Lauren Graham, centers on the “worst kids in the history of the world” who may wind up teaching their neighborhood the real meaning of Christmas.
When the The Crow reboot does happen, it will be a reworking of James O’Barr’s graphic novel, with Bill Skarsgård playing Eric Draven, or The Crow. The teaser depicts Draven’s powers coming to life after his beloved is “brutally murdered.”
“Soulmates Eric Draven (Skarsgård) and Shelly Webster (FKA twigs) are brutally murdered when the demons of her dark past catch up with them. Given the chance to save his true love by sacrificing himself, Eric sets out to seek merciless revenge on their killers, traversing the worlds of the living and the dead to put the wrong things right,” according to the official description.
