The CEO of Audi, Gernot Döllner, described the automaker’s plans to introduce new models in 2024 and 2025, noting that the Q6 e-tron’s debut this spring approved Audi’s model initiative. The first teaser of the A5 family’s tail light and rear light bar, which are scheduled to make their global debut on July 16, 2024, was also revealed by Döllner.
Why it matters that you are aware of Audi’s launch plans
Audi said earlier this year that it sold a record number of vehicles in 2023. Sales of the company’s e-tron EV series were cited as the reason for the increase. Audi will still be heavily reliant on EVs. According to Döllner, Audi plans to launch over 20 new models in 2024 and 2025, with over ten of those models being electric vehicles.
As a portfolio that is future-proof, Döllner described the approach as follows: “Over the coming years, we will expand our range of electric models step by step. At the same time, we will rejuvenate our portfolio of models with combustion engines. This will give us a robust and flexible position as we transition to an all-electric portfolio.”
What Audi is aiming for next
“In just a few days, we will introduce the next model family: the Audi A5. The Audi A6 e-tron will follow in late July, and the new Audi Q5 in fall,” according to Döllne.
On July 16, Audi will unveil the A5 family’s newest generation of combustion engines, which resemble modern hybrid engines since they will be “more efficient thanks to partially eclectic driving.”
Later in July, the Sportback and Avant versions of the A6 e-tron will go on sale. The third generation Audi Q5 family, featuring both hybrid and combustion-only engines, will be on sale in the fall.
