Audi Debuts the All-New E-Tron GT, with the Performance Model Emerging as the Brand’s Most Potent Road Car in Production

Audi has unveiled the revamped e-tron model, which includes a range-topping Performance variant with 912 horsepower, new exterior style, a larger battery capacity, and a reduction in overall weight.

The e-tron’s improvements are consistent with those made to the Porsche Taycan, which forms the bulk of its structural foundation.

Increased performance range and quicker charge times are the result of battery capacity upgrades, motor enhancements, and changes to the chemistry of the battery cells.

The battery-based innovations allow the Audi e-tron to increase in usable output from 84kWh to 97kWh. When charging from suitable fast-charging outlets, the maximum charging speed increases from 270kW to a maximum of 320kW.

According to Audi, a high-power charging (HPC) station can charge the high-voltage battery of the e-tron GT family from 10 to 80 percent in just eighteen minutes. It can increase range to 174 miles in just ten minutes.

The entire lineup of models has been adjusted to account for the modifications, with the “entry-level” dual-motor variant now known as the Audi S e-tron GT and packing 671bhp from its potent all-electric drivetrain.

As one moves up the line, the power output of the Audi RS e-tron GT rises to 845 bhp, and the RS Performance model tops the range with 912 horsepower, making it the most powerful production road automobile ever produced (including the R8 super car), with a 2.3-second 0-60mph sprint.

Air suspension has been made standard across the range to improve driving dynamics, and an optional active system is available to tilt the body into corners and offset the forces experienced during braking and acceleration.

The S e-tron GT and RS variants are difficult to distinguish from one another; the latter may be identified by its optional carbon camouflage pieces and matte, darkened carbon roof.

Additionally, according to Audi, the renowned four rings are now available in a high-end, two-dimensional design that is situated between the front apron and the radiator grille.

The German automaker updated the interior with a new flat-bottomed and flat-topped steering wheel that incorporates touch-sensitive controls to control vehicle functions. Two sizable buttons on the two RS models control the driving modes and start customized driving settings.

Official UK pricing will be disclosed closer to the August 1st, on-sale date. Meanwhile, German prices for the S, RS, and RS Performance models start at €126,000 (about £106,500), €147,500 (roughly £124,670), and €160,500 (roughly £135,650), respectively.
