When Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck unexpectedly got back together on December 14, they gave fans a glimpse of their co-parenting approach. The Gone Girl star went to a school play on Friday night with Lopez and his ex-wife Jennifer Garner, amid rumors that he is “still adjusting to the single life” after the breakup.
The “On the Floor” singer was seen supporting her 16-year-old daughter Emme in a school play while wearing jeans and a red ruffled shirt underneath a long white coat, according to pictures that TMZ was able to obtain. Because Garner and Affleck’s 15-year-old daughter Seraphina also appeared in the same play, it turned out to be a blended family affair.
Lopez, Garner, and Affleck were spotted standing together and happily watching their children, though TMZ did not reveal whether they interacted. The Justice League star wore in a black suit, while Garner chose to wear jeans and a black jacket.
As they work through their divorce, Affleck and Lopez seemed to get along well, and after the performance, the actor reportedly chatted to Emme separately, according to witnesses. The Marry Me actress, meanwhile, clutched a bunch of red roses in one hand and looked like a pleased mother.
As a result of his personal experience co-parenting his three children with Garner—Violet, 19, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12—Affleck has been relying on his family during their separation. According to a source who spoke to People, the ex-couples will be together for Christmas after spending Thanksgiving together at a charity function.
The insider disclosed that their children pushed for the inclusion, saying, “Jen truly just wants her kids to be happy,” “She will continue to make sure that they spend time together as a family and include Ben. They have Christmas plans with the kids, too. The kids enjoy when they all spend time together.”
