In two weeks, Google’s Pixel 8a is probably going to make its debut at the company’s I/O developer event. However, it hasn’t stopped the leaks, which have primarily included design and specifications up to this point.
A report claims that Google has no intention of raising the price of the Pixel 8a in the United States. There is now a second 256GB storage option available, which will retail for $559, in addition to the 128GB Pixel 8a, which will sell for $499.
Despite being a new model, the base 256GB model will cost the same as the Pixel 7a did when it was first released last year. There were worries that Google would raise the price of the Pixel 8a, but it appears that those rumors were predicated on the cost of a greater storage variant, which, if true, is a new choice that 8a purchasers have access to.
According to earlier reports the Pixel 8a would have rounded edges and a less boxy overall shape than the Pixel 7 series, adopting the design cues from the Pixel 8.
A Report stated that the 8a’s features include an enhanced 120Hz OLED display with a higher maximum brightness of 1400 nits. The 8a will use the same 64MP Sony IMX787 camera sensor as the 7a, but it will be powered by a slightly modified Tensor G3 chipset that is featured in the flagship Pixel 8 series.
Some promotional photos that Android Headlines was able to obtain elsewhere indicate that the new, less expensive Pixel will receive security updates for seven years. However, unlike the primary Pixel 8 phones, there is no mention of providing the phone with seven years of Android upgrades and parts maintenance. Depending on the device, Google might give a varied number of years of updates for each of its main and less expensive lines. Or, the story isn’t fully depicted in the Android Headlines image.
The rounder form and two camera sensors on the back are among the several features seen in the models, which resemble the press photos Google provides to journalists before a launch.
The coral color case, which hasn’t been seen in other leaked photos, is what makes it unique. Like it did with the Pixel 8’s Mint model in January, this might be an additional variety that Google chooses to release later in the product cycle, or it could just be an additional case color choice. Given how deliberate Google is about the colors of its official cases, this may indicate that the Pixel line may eventually get a new color.
