David is still a flamboyant version of himself managing his social and professional life in Hollywood in the ten-episode final season. Because of its erratic production schedule—which mostly depended on when David felt ready and motivated to film another season—the program has run for almost 25 years. Furthermore, it is HBO’s longest-running series.
“As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this ‘Larry David’ persona and become the person God intended me to be — the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character,” said David in December, And so ‘Larry David,’ I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed. And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders.”
51 Emmy nominations and two wins have been garnered by the series.
Jeff Garlin (The Goldbergs), Susie Essman (Broad City), Cheryl Hines (Suburgatory), J.B. Smoove (Mapleworth Murders), Richard Lewis (Anything but Love), Ted Danson (The Good Place), Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers), and Tracey Ullman
The actor who plays David’s manager Jeff Greene, Garlin, was rumored to make an appearance in the show’s twelfth season. In December 2021, the actor left ABC’s The Goldbergs after HR looked into allegations of misbehavior on site. Curb’s previous season aired prior to the accusations becoming well known.
David is the creator of Curb; Laura Streicher and Jennifer Corey are co-executive producers; executive producers are David, Garlin, and Jeff Schaffer.
On February 4, the last season premieres weekly on HBO and Max.
